Sacred Groves Banner

October 29, 2010

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Sacred Groves and Main Street Church!

I realize it's been a while since we have put anything out by way of communication; in this note I'm going to do something that I (Scott) don't usually do in these mailings, and that is to write from a more individual, personal perspective.

The main reason for this is that as the principle hands-on producer of the Sacred Groves materials (both video production and web), I'm sort of the one that is responsible for when things get completed and published, as well as communication with those who have an interest in this ministry. However, my personal life encountered a sudden and disorienting jolt earlier this month when I was called out of state to attend to a serious family medical emergency. Needless to say, it has placed many other things, which had been in the forefront of my thinking and daily efforts, onto the back burner. As the only child of my parents, there was no question that I would serve to assist my parents during my mother's medical crisis, which will be an ongoing need for at least the near-term future. I am confident that this is the primary ministry to which God has called me at this particular time.

Nevertheles, I am currently making arrangements to temporarily relocate my "office" to my parents' home that will make me available to both provide the needed care for my family, as well as continue making progress on the projects that we are working on, and still hope to complete in the near future!

I share this with you so that you will both understand why communication and progress has been somewhat stifled as of late, but also to ask for your prayers, both for me and my personal responsibilities, but also for the ongoing ministry of Sacred Groves and Main Street Church.

We move forward with the confidence that Jesus remains in control, His faithfulness is new each morning, and His will and purpose continues to be to draw all people to Himself. And personal crises are certainly something that every one of us must face from time to time, and what a blessing it is to know the love, power, and presence of Jesus Christ in our lives during those moments. I cannot imagine facing "good" days without Jesus, to say nothing of the hard days like these! And that remains my personal passion--that all people, and Latter-day Saints in particular, may know Jesus truthfully, personally, and intimately.

"UNVEILING GRACE" ON TRACK FOR WINTER RELEASE

The documentary that we have been furiously trying to complete for release this fall is almost there! And it has a name: Unveiling Grace. This name was selected because it is the story of eight people from Mormon backgrounds, for whom God's awe-inspiring grace had to be "unveiled." For most it was not a quick process, nor an easy one. But for all of them, it has placed them on a road of joyful discovery and life-giving freedom in Jesus Christ. Whether you're currently a Mormon, or have ever been, or simply a follower of Jesus, we believe it will be an inspiring, encouraging story that you will want to share with people you know. It has certainly been an inspiration and encouragement to us who have worked on it.

The editing of the project was about 99% completed when I was called away to assist my family. This is something I hope to complete in the next few weeks, once I am able to relocate my office and workstation equipment to my parents' home. Of course, editing is only part of the picture; there are several other tasks that stand between a finished product from an editing standpoint, to a finished product that's packaged on DVD and ready to ship. But we will certainly inform you as soon as it's ready! I hesitate to give any dates, but I suspect that there will be snow on the ground in Brigham City when it's ready to go.

Our objective will be to have it available at cost on DVD to anyone wanting to use it as a ministry tool. We will also give the DVD away to any seeking Latter-day Saint who requests one from us, as long as our funds permit us to do this. And of course, it will be availble for online viewing for free, for anyone with an adequate Internet connection.

Our chief goal is to get the word out--to proclaim the good news of eternal life through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ! And we will do this in whatever manner, to whatever extent, and however long He enables us to do so!

May God bless you as you seek and serve Him!
